I’ve wanted to get rid of the data octopus Google Maps for ages, but since it’s so incredibly practical and decent, full-featured alternatives are few and far between, I never got around to it. Lately, though, I’ve been increasingly using Open Street Map and various apps based on it, and I’m managing very well with it, apart from a few bearable compromises. So today I deleted the GMaps app icon and replaced it with OSM – excellent!
